Jeff Oestreich (b. 1947). Beaked pitcher. Soda-fired stoneware. Signed below the handle.

Jeff Oestreich was first introduced to ceramics as a student of Warren MacKenzie’s at the University of Minnesota. Inspired, he went on to apprentice with Bernard Leach in St. Ives, then settled back in Minnesota to form his own pottery. He is an active part of the Minnesota ceramics community, hosting a stop on the St. Croix Valley Pottery Tour, and he is also active on a larger scale: he is displayed in many museums throughout the world and has taught and done artist residencies in a varied group of institutions, including the Rhode Island School of Design, Leach Pottery in St. Ives, and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine.
