Description
Group of five 19th century Japanese woodblock prints by Kunisada (Toyokuni III). One print is taken from an illustrated book by Santou An Kyosho depicting a courtesan with a sword, published by Moriya Osabei. One print is an interior scene with two courtesans. Another is an outdoor scene with two courtesans. The next print depicts a figure with a sword in yellow robes. The final print is an interior scene with a mother and child from Kunisada’s series, “36 Beautres.”
Artist: Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III), Japanese, 1786-1865.
Dimensions: Heights range from 6 1/2 in to 15 1/8 in. Widths range from 4 1/2 in to 10 3/8 in.
