Rene Magritte (1898-1967). Aquatint on paper titled “Le Seize Septembre” depicting the moon in front of a tree. Stamped signature along the lower right and numbered 146/150 along the lower left.
This etching is based on a painting from Magritte’s 1956-1957 series of the same title, which, in his characteristic dreamlike style, played with the concepts of the possible and impossible.
