Neapolitan mandolin with a pear shaped back and ornate inset mother of pearl and shell accents, ca. 1891. The word “Virginia” is inset into the neck of the mandolin with mother of pearl. A label affixed along the interior reads “Fabbrica Di Strumenti Armonici Fra.lli Nicola E Raffaele Calace Fu Antonio Via Universita N. 9 e 10. Anno 1891. Napoli.”
