Frederic Remington “The Buffalo Horse” Bronze Sculpture

Frederic Sackrider Remington (American, 1861-1909). Bronze sculpture depicting the ritual of buffalo runs by Great Plains Native Americans. The hunter is depicted attempting to overpower a buffalo, though the buffalo has just come up under the hunter’s horse which has in turn thrown his rider up into the air. Sculpture affixed to a wooden base with a golden plate that reads “‘The Buffalo Horse’ by Frederic Remington.” Height: 36 in x width: 24 1/2 in x depth: 12 in.
