Inscribed “Meissner & Conway Builders – 1912” along the lower left, “White Eagle” along the lower middle, and “Westhall Studio Union Hill, N.J.” along the lower right. Edwin B. Meissner was president of the St. Louis Aircraft Corporation, a division of the St. Louis Car Company. This company was one of six to produce the Curtiss JN-4D Jenny used in World War I.
