Nautical figurehead from an unknown ship depicting a maiden with flowing hair and a yellow dress, dated 1856. With much of the original paint and wax finish intact as well as the original mounting chain. The figurehead shows heavy use and has clearly been repainted at least once. The date 1856 is boldly carved along the front. Height: 59 1/2 in x width: 41 in x depth: 18 in.
